Sugababes member Amelle Berrabah has been admitted to a private health clinic suffering “from a severe bout of nervous exhaustion”.

A message on the group’s website said the 25-year-old had been advised to take a “short break” following medical advice earlier this week.

A Florida woman who told a television interviewer that Michael Jackson’s ex-wife was only interested in getting money from the singer’s family and wasn’t interested in gaining custody of her two children is being sued.

In a filing last week, Deborah Rowe’s attorneys said the mother of Jackson’s two oldest children should be awarded $490,000 in general and punitive damages.

Rowe sued Rebecca White in July for White’s comments to the television show “Extra.” White hasn’t responded to the lawsuit and Rowe is seeking a default judgment against the Key West, Fla. resident. (more…)

Nominations for the 37th annual American Music Awards were announced at a October 13 press conference, with six nods for American country music singer Taylor Swift and five for late American pop icon Michael Jackson.

Taylor and Jackson are both contenders for the ceremony’s artist of year prize. Other major American nominees included rapper Eminem with four noms, pop singers Beyoncé and Lady Gaga, hip-hop band Black Eyed Peas, rapper T.I. and rock band Kings of Leon (all tied for three nominations each). (more…)
